THE BOOK

The Walk-In

Twenty years inside Eternal Values, a cult. One long walk back out. A memoir about belonging, capture, and the cost of leaving.

By Dar Dixon — actor, author, writer, director, and producer, with more than three decades in Hollywood.

PRAISE FOR THE WALK-IN

"For more than four decades I have studied how ordinary, intelligent, capable people are brought under the control of destructive groups. Dar Dixon takes you inside that experience with a precision I have rarely encountered on the page, and he does it with a poetic sensibility that makes the reading unforgettable. His account of the moment a person finally recognizes what was done to them is one of the best descriptions of dissociation I have ever read. This is not simply a memoir of survival. It is a forensic account of how undue influence actually works, written by a man who lived it and learned to understand it. Anyone who still believes it could never happen to them needs to read this book."

STEVEN HASSAN, PHD

Author of Combating Cult Mind Control

"Not since David Foster Wallace has there been such a unique writing voice."

SHARI GULLO

Activist, artist, and co-founder of the Ela Peace Project and the Preserve Collaborative; featured in the New York Times and Chicago Tribune

"I wanted to devour and savor it at the same time. A captivating story but even more captivating storyteller… it is really a work of art."

STACEY KULONGOWSKI

Author, speaker, and coach; former Director of Sales, Google

"You're the most interesting person I've ever met."

CHRIS SMITH

Activist, artist, and co-founder of the Ela Peace Project and the Preserve Collaborative; featured in the New York Times and Chicago Tribune

THE FOUNDER · SPEAKING

What coercive control actually looks like — from the inside.

Story Axis Collective was founded by Dar Dixon — actor, author, writer, director, and producer, with more than three decades in Hollywood and twenty years lived inside a high-control group. He speaks on influence, manipulation, and the psychology of leaving. He doesn't deliver a TED talk. He puts the audience inside the system and lets them feel how it works — so they walk out able to see influence operating on them, in the deal, the boardroom, the relationship, the feed, before it costs them.
